BK Storm, looking to avenge their Week 1 forfeit loss to the Stallions and put all the other playoff teams on notice, won in convincing fashion in a battle of the league's semipro teams, 30-12.
"We strive to be the best," said BK Storm captain Disco Gumbs, "And in order to be the best you have to beat the best, and we did just that. Don't let our record fool you, we are the real deal."
The Stallions, who had been on a roll since their Week 3 loss at Ball So Hard University and winners of 4 straight came into the game already holding the #1 seed in the conference. Things looked to be going their way when on the first drive of the game QB Bernard May found WR Bjorn Oliver with a diving catch at the goal line from 21 yards out. BK storm would answer right back with a touchdown drive of their own, when offensive player of the week QB Rob Crawford delivered a bullet to Lemonte Attles in the end zone, which tied the game. After a three and out by the Stallions, Crawford would find Paris Crawford for an odd looking catch made on his back to put BK Storm up 14-6 at the half.
The Stallions would come out fired up in the second half as May would drive his team down the field and connect with RB Sherwin Kendall for a 6 yard score, which would pull the Stallions closer, 12-14. However, on the next play, Crawford would throw a screen to Kenny Wall, who turned on the jets and took it all the way 80 yards to the house. After an interception on the next drive by Kenny Wall, Crawford would again take advantage of good field position and find WR Andre Newsome for a one yard pitch and catch for a touchdown.
"You always hate to go into the playoffs with a loss," said Bernard May, captain of the Stallions (6-2), "But the league has seen what we can do after a loss, when we have a chip on our shoulder. I would love to get another crack at this team in the playoffs again."
May finished 9 of 16 for 103 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception, 4 runs for 11 yards, to go along with 2 tackles.
BK Storm will face the Southeast Division Champion Jamaica Saints (6-2) in the Wild Card Round on April 27th. The Stallions, meanwhile will enjoy a bye week by virtue of their #1 seed and will play the winner of the aforementioned Wild Card game.BOX SCORE
